The Prophet is a boss which appears in the Ruins.
According to the Ancestor's Memoirs he arrived as a toothless miscreant in ragged cloth. He had strange, singular knowledge of the Ancestor's ambitions, and proclaimed that his actions would bring doom to the world. Rather than allow him to inspire unrest the Ancestor had him arrested. The Ancestor had the prophet subjected to different forms of torture and attempted to kill him with knives (seen in his back), the stocks, and drowning (as indicated by the iron weights upon him). However, the Prophet would not be slain. Instead, he continued to return to the town, prophesying that the Ancestor would bring doom upon the town. In response to the Prophet's unworldly constitution, the Ancestor brought the prophet to the dig site and showed the prophet his intentions. The Prophet, his mind shattered by what he saw, tore out his own eyes and fled, screaming that the end was nigh.
He is the leader of the cultists who infest the Darkest Dungeons. The aspect
and the story of the Prophet are references to Rasputin.
